Yesterday was an absolutely packed day for the social media team at the British APCO exhibition. We spoke to search and rescue specialists who had been deployed to Haiti, a lord mayor, several presidents and a team of illustrators. Day two looks set to be even busier. When you deploy overseas into disaster zones you need reliable, rapidly deployable kit. No surprise then that the UK ISAR command centre is pretty low-tech. Some surprise that they use the Dropbox system for easy sharing of logs and other operational data. That’s what we use.
